Oleksandr Beregovskyy
Was born in 1960 in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1965 entered Music School. He played the piano for 5 years, until he wanted play the percussion in 1970. He ended school in 1977 and passed the entrance exam for Theater Studio in National Theater of Ukraine. He studied there for 2 years. From 1979 to 1982 Oleksandr served in Military Ensemble of Song and Dance. His love for played the music was stronger so he decided to study playing percussion in R.M.Glier Kyiv Music College. He ended it in 1986 with great success.
Meanwhile in 1982 he started his work in The National Philharmonic of Ukraine. He worked in ensembles "Rodnie Napevy" and "Rapsodia" for 10 years. He won the first Ukrainian Jazz Contest "Goloseevo-86" with quartet "Jazz Impression". Oleksander was organizer of Chris Jarrett's (USA) Ukrainian Tour in 1997. From 1999 to 2003 he worked in jazz band "Radioband" of National Radio Company of Ukraine. He participated in Jonathan Butler's, Roy Ayers's, Jerardo Lusia's concerts. Since 2003 he has been working in Orchestra of Folk Instruments (National Radio Company of Ukraine) as percussion group's concertmaster. Oleksander works with many Ukrainian and Russian jazz, rock, folk and pop groups.
Since 2007 he also cooperates with the Jazz singer Teodora Enache and Emy Dragoi - acordeon, (Romania).
